The sad news for film fans and music fans alike has come that HMV are under pressure to stay open, failing to compete with online downloads, online film websites etc. to be downtrodden along with plenty of other big businesses going bye bye. Jessops, Comet and Clinton Cards all big retailers for cameras, computers and greetings cards have all diminished into nothingness. The state of the high street retailers has definitely shifted from 20 years ago when the only place you could buy your equipment, videos and CDs was from a big chain store like HMV.
