Mankind was born on earth, it wasn't meant to die here

Interstellar

Finally, a proper almost three minute trailer for Christopher Nolan's sci-fi epic Interstellar has arrived on the web. The full length trailer was shown before Godzilla in cinema screens, which is out now and thankfully been put straight onto the world wide web.

It is well worth going to see an epic film like Godzilla just to see this immersive, intriguing trailer on the big screen.

What can we learn from the synopsis of the trailer, which is way more expansive and way more descriptive on what Nolan's sci-fi film will encompass, as the teaser encapsulates just what Nolan is famous for, as his flare for giving just what we need but making sure the mystery remains.

Well with Michael Caine's voice over creating a great mystery as to what Nolan's idea of space travel or "interstellar travel" is all about, and just what McConnaughey's corn fields have to do with space travel.

Cooper played by Matthew McConnaughey is a "well educated man, a trained pilot and an engineer," but as David Oyelowo states "the world doesn't need engineers, we didn't run out of planes and television sets, we ran out of food."

Michael Caine on the other hand appears to play a professor of science and technology or a NASA scientist, either of which is not certain yet, who with his staunch for great dialogue in all of Nolan's films from Batman Begins to Interstellar, is the man with wisdom, the voice of reason. Nolan's lucky charm.

It's very exposition heavy dialogue, incredibly matter of fact, yet we are still in the dark as to how it all links up, what the space travel of interstellar space travel really is.

"We must confront the reality that nothing in our solar system can help us" "We're not meant to save the world, we're meant to leave it" "We must reach far beyond our own lifespans, we must think, not as individuals, but as a species. We must confront the reality of interstellar travel."

When you think about it, do we need anything more than what Nolan has already given us, I'm intrigued enough & not wanting to know anything else, because it's a completely original idea, from a brilliant mind, and is not related whatsoever to a comic book. It's from the heart and mind of one of my favourite directors of all time.

Take a look below.

If you're more impressed by what isn't shown then watch the teaser trailer released in December last year.
